This role will involve coordinating and overseeing various aspects of freight operations, collaborating with internal teams, carriers, and external stakeholders to ensure the smooth flow of goods from origin to destination.Key Responsibility Areas

Freight Coordination
- Coordinate and manage the transportation of goods from suppliers to distribution centers or end customers.
- Utilize the available technologies to plan, optimize, and track freight movements.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with shipping regulations and industry standards.
Carrier Management
- Build and maintain relationships with carriers, freight forwarders, and other logistics service providers.
- Negotiate freight rates, contracts, and service level agreements to optimize costs and service quality
- Evaluate carrier performance and implement corrective actions as needed.
Documentation & Compliance
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation of shipping documentation, including bills of lading, customs documents, and other required paperwork.
- Stay informed about relevant regulations and compliance requirements, ensuring adherence to legal and industry standards.
Data Analysis & Process Improvement
- Analyze freight data and key performance indicators to identify trends, areas for improvement, and cost-saving opportunities.
- Generate regular reports for management, highlighting key metrics and performance indicators.
- Continuously identify and implement process improvements to enhance the overall effectiveness and efficiency of freight operations.
Cross Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with procurement, warehousing, and customer service teams to ensure seamless integration of freight activities into overall supply chain operations.
- Collaborate with external partners and vendors to enhance the end-to-end logistics process.
Job Requirements / Desired skills set
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field.
- Proven experience of 5 to 6 years in freight coordination or logistics management.
- Strong knowledge of transportation regulations, modes, and best practices.
- Proficiency in using transportation management systems (TMS) or any other relevant software.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret and act upon data.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
